You're invited to come celebrate my 50th in one of my favorite places.
This weekend is my gift to myself — celebrating with all of you is the best part.
Come, relax, enjoy, and please, no gifts.
— Kevyn
Come for as little or as much as you can — no events are mandatory. Kindly RSVP by July 31.
If you're already in the area Friday afternoon, I'm planning to head to Glidden Point to see the oyster farm and eat a few straight off the boat. Totally casual — come along if you're around.
First round of hellos. Location depends on the crowd — either the Tavern at East Wind or my apartment in Tenant's Harbor. I'll confirm the spot as the date gets closer.
Paddling out with Tamara from Port Clyde Kayaks — I've been out with her many times and she's the best on this coast. Let me know your kayaking experience in the RSVP below so we can pick the right route for the group.
The famous McLoon's Lobster Shack — picnic tables outside overlooking the water. We'll have the whole place. Come hungry!
A slow, grounding start to the day with Salt and Stillness, taught by Lexi — who also owns the apartment I'm staying in — at the Granite Gallery. Mats provided.
Three hours on the water with A Morning in Maine, leaving from Rockland. Bring your own snacks and drinks — everything else is handled.
Let me know what you're in for — arrivals, where you're staying, and which parts of the weekend you're joining. I need final numbers by July 31 to plan with everyone I'm working with, so please get your RSVP in by then.
Most of you have already sorted travel and where you're staying — this is just here if you need it.
I'll be staying in Tenant's Harbor, and everything happens nearby. It's roughly an equal drive from Portland (PWM) and Bangor (BGR) airports. August is high season on this coast, so if you haven't locked in a car or a place to stay yet, sooner is better.
If you've got extra time before or after, I put together a map of some of my favorite places on the peninsula — little beaches, good food, quiet walks. Open the map →
The whole area is very casual, so don't overthink it: layers, something wind-resistant for the boats, comfortable shoes, and something you'd be happy to wear to dinner Saturday night. Nothing formal.
No — please don't. Having you there is the whole gift.
Yes, yes, and yes. Just let me know who's coming in the manifest above so I can plan headcounts for everything, including with the kayak, yoga, and sail folks.
Not at all. Come for just Saturday night, or for the full three days — whatever fits your schedule.
July 31 — I need final numbers by then to plan everything with the vendors I'm working with. If your plans are still up in the air, just give me your best guess and update me once things firm up.
Of course — a rough headcount is fine. Note anything that's still up in the air, and update me once your RSVP is final.
